January 28thCalgary Winter Weekend Reflections and Ponderings
The Calgary Winter Weekend was a great kick-off to the year! The Youth Leadership Team (YLT) serves as an MCA-wide initiative for youth and young adults, providing programming and faith-building for leaders and youth groups. The YLT offers young adults opportunities for leadership, faith formation, and volunteering with younger youth and MCA staff.
The YLT and youth leaders lead games, pizza-making competitions, and more! We had fun skating at Bowness Park and discovering the joys of running around the church in the dark. It was a great opportunity to build relationships with youth and young adults across the Calgary churches, as well as a few from Edmonton.

The Calgary Winter Weekend gave the YLT the freedom to test their leadership, planning, and community-building before Slush Camp in March!
Sitting on the heat vents in the sanctuary means getting warm!
Aiden pointed out, "They did this almost exactly in Guatemala this past spring, so I thought it was very cute to see them doing it again!
Linda's thoughts:
I'm always encouraged when I see Youth and Young Adult involvement in church activities, and this was no exception. The way these young adults ensured no one was left out and everyone was included was really beautiful.
